Patient’s condition may be unstable due to various reasons or unexpected complications in the process of surgery or treatment and preparation for many diseases.
Especially, critical care(or intensive care) is essential because the blood pressure, pulse, and breath of the patients, who have had emergency surgery or have underlying diseases such as cancer or cardiac / pulmonary diseases, severe trauma due to accident and is older age, can be unstable more easily. Furthermore, in case of urgent diseases such as appendicitis, peritonitis, acute abdomen, upper gastrointestinal tract bleeding, etc., if the emergency surgery is needed, the Acute Care & Trauma Surgery controls whole process from the urgent surgery in the emergency room to post care in ICU with specialized treatment, and the clinic is also in charge of treatment for severe trauma due to car accidents or industrial accidents.
